Overview
SheerLuxe was launched in 2007 by Georgie Coleridge Cole as an online shopping directory.[5] Always a digital-first publisher distributing daily newsletters and best in class online content it evolved into podcasts, video and different social media channels.[1][2] The company also launched editions and verticals for weddings, parenting, business, younger audiences, men and affluent audiences.[5][6] By 2024, SheerLuxe reported a network of over five million and a newsletter subscriber base of over 700,000 across its brands. SheerLuxe’s social media presence grew, with TikTok views exceeding 130 million and Instagram impressions surpassing 140 million.[1][2]
In October 2023, it expanded internationally with SheerLuxe Middle East. In 2024, it introduced an AI-Tastemaker named Reem, which generated public debate over the role of artificial intelligence in publishing.[7][8][9] The project was reported on by outlets such as BBC News and sparked conversation about the future role of human editorial work. SheerLuxe stated that the initiative had been developed by a team of ten people and had created jobs rather than replaced them.[3][10][11] Also in 2024, SheerLuxe launched a peer-to-peer community app.[5][9]
The company operates through a digital-first publishing model, with revenue generated from commercial partnerships.[9]
