  • Comment: Neither of the sources cited is about this hypothetical compound; both are about the bromite ion, for which we already have an article. We need sources that are specifically about the subject. WeirdNAnnoyed (talk) 13:09, 8 March 2026 (UTC)
  • Comment: Wikipedia cannot be used to source other Wikipedia articles, see WP:CIRCULAR. Most chemical substances are notable, but there needs to be something written about them that can be summarized in an article. 331dot (talk) 10:20, 7 March 2026 (UTC)

Silver bromite

Silver bromite is a hypothetical / unstable molecule[1] which is a silver salt that contains 1 silver cation() and 1 bromite anion (). Silver bromite () quickly disproportionates into silver bromate () and silver bromide ().[2]

The biproduct silver bromide is stable under normal conditions however it breaks down when exposed to light.

Unlike silver bromide, silver bromate does not get affected by light and is stable under normal conditions, however it does decompose into silver bromide and oxygen
