Spencer Rothbell (born January 4, 1990) is an American animation writer and voice actor. He is best known as the lead writer and voice of the Cartoon Network animated series Clarence.[1]

Rothbell took over the titular role of Clarence after series creator Skyler Page was fired in 2014, and provided the voice for the majority of the series.[2][3]

Rothbell was born in Denville, New Jersey, on January 4, 1990.
Censored Kiss
In October 2014, Rothbell noted Cartoon Network censored a gay kiss in Clarence, noting "Originally the guy had flowers and they kissed on the mouth."[4][5][6]
