Channel Content
First Video
Spookston joined YouTube in Summer of 2012 but only first posted a video over 3 years later. That video, "Russia is stronk"[2] features War Thunder arcade gameplay of the T-34 (1940) (then stylized "T-34 1940"), in which he destroys roughly 40 enemy tanks (estimate based on "Professional" award that displays in-game) over several matches while the Soviet March from Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3 plays as background music. The video is two minutes and forty-six seconds (2:46) long, and includes no voiceover. The video description reads:
"Russia is too stronk My second attempt at Sony Vegas."
As of March 24, 2026, the video has 202,157 views and 4.8 thousand likes, although initial numbers were probably much lower, as his 2nd-5th videos show much lower view counts and it's likely that viewers from a more recent point in his career watched his first video long after it was posted.
First Video With Speech
Spookston's first video to feature his voice was "Everything wrong with Halo's Grizzly tank"[3], posted on July 31 of 2019 with 252,949 views and 9.3 thousand likes as of the initial writing of this article. In the video he analyzes the M850 Grizzly tank from the Halo Wars video game, and specifically it's historical oddities and inaccuracies. The video is 5 minutes and 21 seconds (5:21) long.
Most Popular Video
The most popular video on Spookston's channel to date is "The Sturmtiger Is Very Dumb"[4], posted on November 12, 2022 with more than 1.7 million views and 43 thousand likes as of March 2026. The video is centered around gameplay of the (at the time) newly-added Sturmtiger heavy assault gun, featuring live commentary and his opinions on the vehicle and it's addition into the game. The primary section of the video description reads:
"A while ago I made a video saying that Gaijin should not add the infamous Sturmtiger (aka 38cm Sturmorser) to War Thunder, as it would probably be both frustrating to use and play against. After getting a test drive for the ungainly heavy tank turned assault vehicle, I think I was more or less correct. The 380mm rocket has abysmal velocity and loves to do no damage sometimes. It also can be destroyed if someone shoots the barrel, sending you back to the hangar real quick. Don't get me wrong, it's definitely fun for a bit, but it does get old."
The video is 8 minutes and 5 seconds (8:05) long and uses audio recorded on his "old mic", with an audible difference between the audio of his earlier videos and that of his current videos.
General Information
Spookston is know amongst his fans and the War Thunder community for several things, notably his knowledgeability of information regarding the HSTV-L and RDF/LT experimental American light tanks, and his tendency to be bombed by aircraft during War Thunder matches. Spookston's first name has been confirmed (in videos and on stream) to be Alex, but no last name is known.
