Juan Ojeda Jr. was born on July 14, 1978 in Torrance, California and raised in Long Beach, California, where his family is from. Of Mexican and Guamanian descent, he developed his musical roots in San Jose, California. His father was a lead guitarist and percussionist in a Latin Rock band during the 1970s and 1980s. Originally spelling his name Messiah when he began his career in 1992, he later shortened and stylized it to MiSia, which he used as an acronym during his early emcee career before transitioning full time to production. His production style was shaped by producers including J Dilla, Pete Rock, and Easy Mo Bee, as well as the Bay Area underground hip-hop scene. He founded Siavibe Music in San Jose, California in 1999, later relocating to the Inland Empire, California around 2005 before operating out of Los Angeles, and ultimately reforming the company as Siavibe, Inc., a Tennessee S Corporation in Memphis in 2026.^[2]

Style MiSia began his career as part of the San Jose underground hip-hop scene. In 1997 he was a member of Gypsy Cab, a crew consisting of two emcee and producer groups, Isotopes and Minds in Unison, before forming Daysmen Empire with fellow members Esoin and Diverse. His first outside production credits came in 1997 when he produced five tracks on Scarub's debut album The Answer 2wo the Meaning, also appearing as an emcee on the track "What Iz."^[3] Scarub is a founding member of 3 Melancholy Gypsys and the Living Legends collective.

Style MiSia gained wider recognition with a production placement on 50 Cent's "Queens Pimp," released on the 2005 DJ Whoo Kid mixtape 2050: Before the Massacre. He also produced Peedi Crakk's track on Big Mike's P.Crakk 4 Prez mixtape, and "Making the Rounds" featuring Ras Kass, which appeared on Rasco's The Dick Swanson Theory LP in 2005.^[4][5]

Additional production credits include Sean Price, Planet Asia, The Grouch of Living Legends, Rakaa Iriscience of Dilated Peoples, Guilty Simpson, Chali 2na, Rapper Big Pooh, Mistah F.A.B., Wordsworth, Equipto, and Scarub. His 2011 album Rhythmeticulous serves as a full documentation of his collaborative production work, featuring tracks including "Deep Pockets" with Sinsay and Mistah F.A.B., "Dedication" and "Never Die" with The Grouch, "Making the Rounds" with Ras Kass and Rasco, and "Another Masterpiece" with Verbal Kent.^[6]

In May 2020, Style MiSia produced "Doing Me Wrong" featuring Sally Green for Casual of Hieroglyphics, released as an official single on May 22, 2020.^[7][8]

His 2004 solo album Rebel Music features "Lady Luck," a collaboration with P.E.A.C.E. of Freestyle Fellowship, the pioneering Los Angeles underground hip-hop group.^[9]

From 2011 to 2014 he served as personal studio technician for R&B artist Tyrese Gibson through Voltron Entertainment LLC, contributing to Gibson's albums Open Invitation (2011) and Black Rose (2015).

Style MiSia competed in multiple Red Bull Big Tune producer beat battles, the nation's premier head-to-head producer competition established in 2004. He participated in the Los Angeles qualifying event alongside producers including DiBia$e, Hi-Res, Tauras, DJ Finyl, and others, as part of the 2010 national tour that culminated in the Chicago finals.^[10][11][12]
