Early life and Education

Sujan Chapagain was born in Bharatpur, Nepal. He comes from a musical family, as his mother is a singer. He completed his schooling at Narayani Higher Secondary School, Chitwan. He later earned a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) from the Ace Institute of Management.[3]

Career

His career was marked by persistence in the early years, including unsuccessful auditions for televised singing competitions such as Nepal Idol.[4] His breakthrough came during the COVID-19 pandemic, when his song “Teenpatey” (2020) gained widespread popularity on TikTok and other platforms, resonating with audiences during lockdown periods.[2] He later released several other songs, including "Gala Pukka", "Lajayera", "Fulthunge Rani", "Baaf", etc. which further contributed to his recognition.

As an independent artist, he frequently collaborates with the production company Artmandu and performs with his band, Sujan Chapagain and The Infinity.[5] His music is noted for its folk-fusion style, blending contemporary sounds with traditional Nepali instruments such as the sarangi.[5]
