In February 2026, The Star reported that Tan resigned from his position in Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia after citing a loss of confidence in the party leadership.[1]
Sinar Harian reported that the Johor Bersatu associate wing's public complaints bureau would be dissolved following internal party developments.[2]
Malaysia Gazette also reported that the Johor Bersatu associate wing was dissolved following Tan's resignation.[3]
