Tanvi Patri (born 14 April 2011) is an Indian badminton player. Patri trains at the Prakash Padukone Badminton Academy in Bengaluru and is supported by the Olympic Gold Quest.[1]

Early life
Tanvi Patri was born on 14 April 2011 in Balasore, Odisha, India. Her father, Rabinarayan Patri, and mother, Sailabala Panda, are software professionals. During her early childhood, her family lived in Taicang, China due to her father's employment, where she was introduced to badminton at a young age.[2]
Patri began formal training in China and received coaching from celebrated Chinese coach Jiang Yong Yi in Jiangsu and Zhang Lei in Shanghai and competed in several age-group tournaments, winning multiple junior titles.[3] Between 2017 and 2020, she won several tournaments in China before returning to India following the COVID-19 pandemic.[4]
After returning to India, she continued training in Odisha and later joined the Prakash Padukone Badminton Academy in Bengaluru in 2022, where coaches noted her technical skills and adaptability.[5] She is supported by the Olympic Gold Quest.[1]
Career
Tanvi Patri has represented Odisha in domestic junior badminton competitions and achieved success in All Odisha State Badminton Association ranking tournaments, winning multiple under-15, under-17 and under-19 girls' singles titles between 2021 and 2022.[6]
At the national level, Patri won the girls' singles gold medal at the 34th Sub-Junior (Under-13) National Badminton Championships in 2022, becoming the first shuttler from Odisha to win the title.[7] She successfully defended the title at the 35th Sub-Junior National Championships in 2023, held in Balangir, Odisha.[8]
In 2024, Patri won the girls' under-15 singles title at the U-15 Asian Championships, her first major continental title.[9]
She also represented India at European junior events in 2024, reaching the quarterfinals of the German Junior International in Berlin and the second round of the Dutch Junior International in Haarlem.[5]
