Tara Stadium is a 10,000 seat stadium located in Jonesboro, Georgia. It was built in 1968. It is a shared home stadium for Clayton County Public Schools. This is the oldest of the four stadiums in Clayton County. The other stadiums are Twelve Oaks Stadium, Southern Crescent Stadium and Steele Road Stadium.[1] In 2022, the field was renamed after local Forest Park star football player, Hines Ward.[2] In 2024 and 2025, Tara Stadium underwent renovations to upgrade the concessions, entrances, a brand new field house and a large display scoreboard. [3]

History
Tara Stadium opened in 1968 for more than a half a million dollars. It was considered the finest high school stadium at the time.[4]
In 1970, Tara Stadium hosted the Atlanta Chiefs of the NASL. They played there for one season before returning to Atlanta Stadium. [5]
Tara Stadium was featured as the home stadium for Morehead State in the 2006 movie, We Are Marshall. The stadium was painted blue and yellow for the filming. [6]
