Thread: An Insidious Tale is an upcoming American supernatural horror film written and directed by Jeremy Slater in his directorial debut. It is a spin-off film in the Insidious franchise. It stars Mandy Moore and Kumail Nanjiani. James Wan and Jason Blum serve as producers under their Atomic Monster Productions and Blumhouse Productions banners, respectively.

Development
In January 2022, it was announced that the film, at the time titled Thread, was in early development, with Jeremy Slater writing and directing in his directorial debut and James Wan as producer.[1]
In May 2023, it was announced that the film would be a spin-off film of the Insidious franchise titled Thread: An Insidious Tale, with Mandy Moore and Kumail Nanjiani to star.[2]
Filming
Principal photography was scheduled to begin on August 31, 2023 in Winnipeg, Canada.[3][needs update]
