Tom and Jerry: Forbidden Compass (Chinese: 猫和老鼠:星盘奇缘) is a 2025 animated comedy film produced by China Film Co., Ltd., Warner Bros. Pictures, and Origin Animation. Written and directed by Gang Zhang, it is the first fully computer-animated feature-length film of the Tom and Jerry franchise.

Production
In February 2025, the film was approved for production and filed by China Film Co., Ltd. and Warner Bros. Pictures, with Zhang Gang attached as the screenwriter.[4] On May 31, it was selected to compete in the animation category of the 27th Shanghai International Film Festival for the Golden Goblet.[5] On June 17, director Zhang Gang revealed in a Weibo post that production had wrapped on the film after five years of work.[6] The film was produced as part of the celebrations for the 85th anniversary of Tom and Jerry.[7]
Release and reception
Tom & Jerry: Forbidden Compass premiered at the 27th Shanghai International Film Festival on June 21, 2025. The film premiered in Chinese theaters on August 9, 2025, followed by a digital release on October 3, 2025 in China only. There is no release date set for the United States.[7]
Box office
At the Chinese box office, the film grossed $1.18 million on its opening day and about $1.97 million for its first weekend. In other territories, it grossed an additional $182,661 upon the film's release in Spain on October 24, 2025.[8] So far, the film has grossed $4,514,327 worldwide.[1]
