VK Slávia SPU Nitra (formerly known as VK Bystrina SPU Nitra) is a Slovak volleyball club that currently competes in the Slovak Men's Volleyball League, the highest league in the country. The club is based in the city of Nitra and is affiliated with the SPU university.[1]

In the 2015/2016 season, the club underwent a significant organizational and player transformation. The arrival of a new investor, a change of name and the appointment of Marek Kardoš as head coach. All of this contributed to high ambitions and, ultimately, their fulfillment. In 2016, Nitra won gold for the first time in its history and became the champion of the Slovakia in the men's volleyball extra league.[2]
History
The history of VK Slávia, formerly VK Ekonóm, began in 1952, when the men's volleyball section at TJ Slávia VŠP Nitra was established.[2]
