Open-Source PBX Software From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

VitalPBX is a free and open-source software PBX management solution, based upon Asterisk PBX. It was created in 2017 and was written using the Python, PHP, Perl and C programming languages. It was designed to function as a business telephone system, with a graphical web-based management interface.[1]

  • Comment: Thanks for citing a few academic papers, but the level of notability required to justify a standalone article for a product or service is fairly substantial (WP:NPRODUCT), and this is a good start but probably not quite enough. Especially at this level of detail, I recommend incorporating this information into Asterisk (software). Dreamyshade (talk) 01:22, 19 July 2026 (UTC)

Security

Since 2022, security researchers have published several CVEs(Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures) for VitalPBX.[2] It has also been the subject of several research projects,[3][4][5] a couple of which were focused specifically on security in PBX systems.[6][7]
