Plot
In an African tribe long ago, children who turn eight must perform a ritual at Simbaimara's sacred baobab, pledging themselves as defenders of nature. When Wasahali opens her eyes too soon during the ceremony, she accidentally breaks the ritual and awakens an old legend that endangers the entire planet. Granted a chance to repair the damage, she is transported into a fantastic world where she meets a boy named Mootambo. Together they travel through a landscape of riddles, curious characters, and dangers in an effort to reach the sacred baobab, complete the ritual, and restore nature's balance before a fire lion devours the planet.[1]
