Overview

History

WorldVue was founded on December 31, 1975, in Houston, Texas, by Chester Dickson. The company initially operated as World Cinema before rebranding to WorldVue in 2022, reflecting its broader focus on property technology beyond television services.[1][3][4][5]

Operations

WorldVue serves 8,000 properties and 1 million rooms globally. It has expanded internationally with offices in the United States, Canada, Mexico, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Dubai, Singapore, and Australia.[6][4][5]

In 2022, WorldVue partnered with the Telecom Infra Project’s OpenWiFi initiative to develop open-source WiFi solutions for hotels,[4][5][7] aiming to improve internet access and reduce costs for property operators. [8][9][3][6]

In 2025, the company also entered a partnership with HOSPA, the Hospitality Professionals Association, to promote digital transformation in the hospitality sector. Additionally, WorldVue has achieved SOC 2 Type II Certification for its service practices.[2][3][10]

Services

WorldVue provides several technology services for hotels and other guest-centered properties. Its services include in-room entertainment platforms that support streaming, casting, interactive guides, and digital checkout, as well as television programming packages supplied through its role as an authorized DISH dealer.[2][6]

The company also designs and manages WiFi networks, including its participation in the OpenWiFi initiative, which develops open-source, vendor-neutral networks to improve connectivity and reduce costs for property operators.[8][9]  Additionally, WorldVue invested in ProSafe, a hotel safety platform that enables employees to report incidents, including anonymous reporting for concerns related to human trafficking.[11][12][13]

The ProSafe platform has been integrated with Safe House Project’s Simply Report system, enabling hotel staff across the United States to discreetly report suspected human trafficking incidents with geo-location support for faster response times.[11] WorldVue’s technology is deployed across several hotel groups, including Marriott, Hilton, IHG, Wyndham, Best Western, Choice Hotels International, Loews Hotels and Co., InTown Suites, and Sonesta Hotels and Resorts, providing high-speed internet access, in-room entertainment, television, safety devices, and phone systems.[2][12][13]
