Vladimir Vasilyevich Yamkov (born 9 June 2008 in Kazan) is a Russian boxer and kickboxer, honoured as Master of Sport of Russia in both disciplines. He is the champion of the 2024 CISM World Cadet Games, silver medalist of the 2025 Russian National Boxing Championship, and champion of the 2025 EUBC Europian Balkan Championship in the up to 63.5 kg weight category. He is a member of the main Russian national teams in boxing and kickboxing.[1][2]

Biography

Yamkov was born in 2008 in Kazan. He began boxing at the age of six under the guidance of his father, Vasily Yamkov.[2] In March 2026, he graduated from both the Kazan Suvorov Military School and the college of the Volga Region State University of Physical Culture, Sports and Tourism.[2]
Sporting career
Boxing
In February 2025, Yamkov, then a student at the Volga Region State University of Physical Culture, Sports and Tourism college, won a gold medal at an international boxing tournament dedicated to the memory of soldiers who died in the line of duty. The competition took place in Komsomolsk-on-Amur and featured 126 athletes from 10 countries.[3][4][5]
In May 2025, Vladimir Yamkov took second place at the Russian National Boxing Championship in Chekhov, thereby fulfilling the requirements for the title of Master of Sport of Russia.[6]
In autumn 2025, Vladimir Yamkov became the silver medalist of the III Eurasian Boxing Cup "Dauria", where he defeated five-time Armenian champion and two-time European champion Andranik Martirosyan by technical knockout in the semifinals.[7][8]
In October 2025, he won the gold medal at the 2025 EUBC Europian Balkan Championship in the men's up to 63.5 kg weight category.[9][10]
In February 2026, he won the gold medal at international competitions in Komsomolsk-on-Amur in the up to 67 kg weight category.[11]

Kickboxing
In May 2025, he took second place at the Russian National Kickboxing Championship in ring disciplines held in Naro-Fominsk, where he also fulfilled the requirements for the title of Master of Sport of Russia in kickboxing.[1]
In March 2026, Vladimir Yamkov became the winner of the III Moscow Kickboxing Championship in the up to 69 kg weight category. The competition took place at the "Severny" Palace of Martial Arts and featured over 1,200 athletes. Yamkov fought three bouts (quarterfinal, semifinal, final), finishing each by stoppage in the first round. This victory earned him a place on the Moscow team and a qualification spot for the 2026 Russian National Championship.[12][13]
