Yu Jincai (Chinese: 于金才; born November 1937), also known as Chen Jian, is a Chinese landscape painter and art theorist. He is a member of the China Artists Association and a former First-Class Artist at the Hebei Academy of Painting.

Biography

Yu Jincai (born November 1937 – died 2017) in Ling County, Shandong, China.[1] He graduated from the Tianjin Academy of Fine Arts in 1961.[2]

After graduation, he worked as an art educator and later served as a staff member at the Hebei Art Creation Studio. In 1986, he joined the Hebei Academy of Painting, where he worked as a professional painter and was later appointed as a First-Class Artist.[3]

Yu has been active in landscape painting and calligraphy since the 1960s. He specializes in traditional Chinese ink landscape painting, with a focus on the Taihang Mountains. He is particularly known for his depictions of Cangyan Mountain.[4]

Career and works

Yu's works have been selected for national exhibitions, including the 6th National Art Exhibition of China.[5] Some of his works are held in the collections of the National Art Museum of China and the Mao Zedong Memorial Hall.[6]

In addition to painting, Yu is also active in calligraphy, producing works based on classical Chinese poetry.
