ZIG MENTALITY is a Canadian rock group from Ontario, Canada, consisting of brothers Jig Dubé and Quinn Dubé. The band blends elements of alternative rock, indie rock, and grunge. They gained early recognition after signing with Lava Records of Universal Music Group and releasing the EP The Sesh in 2020.[1]

ZIG MENTALITY originally performed under the name dubé and developed an early following through independent releases and touring.[2]
The band has performed alongside other rock acts including cleopatrick and has appeared at festivals such as Northern Invasion.[3]
History
Early career
ZIG MENTALITY was formed in Ontario by brothers Jig and Quinn Dubé. The group initially released music independently under the name dubé and developed an audience through performances and online platforms.[4]
Early singles included “Pretty Girls On Bikes” (2017) and “Stoned Love” (2018).[5]
Lava Records and The Sesh (2020)
In 2019 the band signed with Lava Records.[6]
Their debut EP, The Sesh, was released on May 1, 2020 through Lava/Universal.[7]
Recording took place at Orange Lounge Recording Studios in Toronto and at the band’s basement studio.[8]
Independent work
Following their early label releases, ZIG MENTALITY shifted to independent production and distribution. The members began self-producing and engineering their recordings.
The band released the full-length album Lead Us Not Astray on May 31, 2024 via Zig Production House.[9]
In 2024 the band launched the production company Zig Production House and began producing music for other artists.
On March 19, 2025 the EP Are You Watching Closely? was released. In 2026 the band released the EP SVN, which included the track “7”.
Musical style
ZIG MENTALITY's music incorporates elements of Alternative rock, Indie rock, and Grunge, often featuring bass-driven arrangements and distorted guitar tones.[10]
Their sound has been compared to bands such as Queens of the Stone Age and Rage Against the Machine.[11]
