Zillur Rahman (born 1 June 1970) is a senior Bangladeshi police officer who has served in several important positions in the Bangladesh Police, including as the chief of the Bangladesh Railway Police. He holds the rank of Deputy Inspector General (DIG) and served as Additional Inspector General (Addl. IGP) while leading the Railway Police.[1][2]

Career

In July 2015, Rahman was suspended as the deputy commissioner of Barisal Metropolitan Police for creating a bribe fund for 230 police officers to bribe senior officers for promotion.[3] He served under commissioner Shaibal Kanti Chowdhury.[3]

He was appointed as the chief of the Bangladesh Railway Police as part of a government reshuffle of senior police in September 2025.[4] As head of the Railway Police, he was responsible for maintaining security across railway stations, trains, and railway property throughout the country.[5]
