Premise

Vijay Radhakrishnan, a young police officer got his first posting as Sub Inspector at Kuzhinilam in Idukki District, a quiet station.

The peace was destroyed when a body of an unknown person who was murdered, was found on the local plantation, after a palm was found nearby. The police happened to meet with another crime, a robbery on a local finance company, Aanamala Finance, in between their investigation. But the situation got even worser when they found another body in a nearby dam. The fact between the two murders is that they were done similar to each other.

Vijay got an information that a person was found in a nearby plantation in Makkimala carrying a body. When the police searched the place, Vijay was struck down after finding a corpse which was placed on a pit. The corpse was holding a gold ornament in his left hand and it was found that the gold was taken from Aanamala Finance showing a proof that the gold was mortgaged there. They also found out that the person was an immigrant labourer hailing from tamil nadu along with 3 other labourers who absconded from a working site.

Reception

Goutham S of Pinkvilla gave 2 out of 5 stars, writing that "Despite its shortcomings, Dridam has enough going for it to keep an average viewer mildly engaged. However, the freshness and originality a mystery thriller requires to fully captivate its audience are largely missing, which affects the overall experience even on OTT platforms".[3] S. R. Praveen of The Hindu wrote that "Despite initial promise, ‘Dridam’ falters under the weight of clichéd storytelling and excessive violence, failing to deliver the suspense and depth expected from the genre".[4] Anandu Suresh of The Indian Express gave 1.5 out of 5 stars, writing "Considering that the Shane Nigam-starrer often attempts to be a police procedural, there is an abundance of dialogues, and most of it sounds soulless and uninspired".[5] Sajin Shrijith of The Week gave 3.5 out of 5 stars, writing "For a change, it's refreshing to see a police hero who doesn't have any vices or doesn't suffer from a triggering trauma from a past tragedy. Shane Nigam's new film creates this impressive smoke-and-mirrors effect that enhances the impact of the finale".[6]
