Dumelang Saleshando (born 13 September 1971) is a Motswana politician and economist who has served as the Leader of the Botswana Congress Party since 2010. Saleshando has been the Leader of the Opposition since November 2024. He also serves as MP for Maun North since 2024. Saleshando has served as Leader of the Opposition on three occasions, from 2012–2014, 2019–2022 and since 2024.
Saleshando was born on 13 September 1971, is the firstborn of five sons to Gilson Saleshando, a politician, and Keatlaretse Dolly Saleshando, a nurse.[1] He attended numerous schools growing up in Kanye, Lobatse, Selebi-Phikwe[1] and was brought up in the Seventh-day Adventist Church. He completed his schooling at St Joseph's College, where he became a member of the Botswana Socialist Youth,[1] before enrolling in a degree in economics and political science at the University of Botswana in 1992.[2]
