Dylan Miguel Smith (born May 28, 2000) is an American professional baseball pitcher for the San Francisco Giants of Major League Baseball (MLB). He made his MLB debut with the Detroit Tigers in 2025.
Smith grew up in Stafford, Texas, and attended Stafford High School. He was selected in 18th round by the San Diego Padres in 2018 Major League Baseball draft, but opted not to sign with the team.[1]
Smith played college baseball at Alabama for three seasons. He appeared in 13 games as a freshman and had an ERA of 6.48.[2] Smith pitched 6+1⁄3 innings over four appearances with one start before the season ended prematurely due to the coronavirus pandemic.[3] He became a starter prior to his junior season and went 2–8 with a 3.84 ERA with 113 strikeouts 20 walks in 98+1⁄3 innings pitched across 16 starts.[4]
