Dematin is a protein that in humans is encoded by the DMTN gene (formerly EPB49).^[2]^[3]^[4] Dematin functions to stabilize the cytoskeleton structure of red blood cells.^[4] In particular, it binds to actin, and induces bundling.^[4]
