The Ring III was the billing of a professional boxing event serving as a double feature. The first, Edgar Berlanga vs. Hamzah Sheeraz, was a super middleweight professional boxing match contested between Edgar Berlanga and Hamzah Sheeraz in a WBC super middleweight title eliminator. The second, Shakur Stevenson vs. William Zepeda, was a lightweight professional boxing match contested between WBC lightweight champion Shakur Stevenson and WBC interim lightweight champion William Zepeda for WBC lightweight title. The event took place on July 12, 2025, at Louis Armstrong Stadium in Queens, New York City, New York, U.S.[1]Hamzah Sheeraz defeated Edgar Berlanga by TKO in the fifth round, while Shakur Stevenson successfully defended his WBC lightweight title against William Zepeda by UD.[2][3]

Background
On May 15, 2025, The Ring officially announced that Berlanga and Sheeraz will be fighting on July 12, 2025 alongside Stevenson and Zepeda. During their press conference, Berlanga predicting a first-round knockout and Sheeraz promising to leave everything in the ring.[4]
Berlanga entered the bout after suffering his first professional defeat against Canelo Álvarez via unanimous decision in September 2024.[5]He returned with a first-round knockout victory over Jonathan Gonzalez-Ortiz on March 15, 2025.[6]
Sheeraz moved up to super middleweight following a controversial draw against WBC middleweight champion Carlos Adames in February 2025.[7]
