Efungwu Opata (born 5 November 1993), professionally known as Potrix,[1] is a Nigerian technology entrepreneur and software product developer. He founded Techworkstations, a technology company operating in software development and e-commerce, including Remedy Portal.[2] He is the co-founder of the dating application Bammby, created in partnership with music producer Don Jazzy.[3]

Opata was born and raised in Nsukka to university professors Damian and Patience Opata.[4] He attended the University of Nigeria Secondary School, Nsukka, for his secondary education. He later proceeded to the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, for his tertiary education.[citation needed]

Career

As a student, Opata started organising events and published the quarterly Potrix magazine, which featured notable figures such as the Ooni of Ife,[5] Wizkid,[6] and Seyi Shay on its covers.[7] In 2021, Opata launched Remedy Portal,[8] a multi-application service platform designed to provide integrated daily-use digital tools such as news updates, job listings, scholarships, business funding support, loan access, and a digital wallet feature.[9] The launch received media attention, including reports highlighting actress Regina Daniels as the brand ambassador.[10]

Bammby

Opata is the co-founder of Bammby,[11] a dating and social connection app developed in collaboration with record producer Don Jazzy.[12]Nigerian news publications describe him as the "co-founder" and "technical architect" of the platform, credited with developing and overseeing the software infrastructure. Efungwu Opata has been publicly acknowledged by Don Jazzy for his role in the growth of Bammby. Several Nigerian media organisations have profiled his work, covering product launches and milestone announcements tied to both Remedy Portal and Bammby.[13]

Personal life

In January 2026, he married Chinelo Umeanaka in a traditional marriage ceremony held in Ezinifite, Anambra State.[4]
