El Chaparral is a census-designated place (CDP) in Starr County, Texas, United States. As of the 2020 census, El Chaparral had a population of 467.[1] It was a new CDP for the 2010 census. It was formed, along with Santa Rosa CDP, from the old Santa Cruz CDP. (Not to be confused with the new Santa Cruz CDP.)[2]
