Ella Bright

Ella Bright (born 27 November 2006) is an American-born British actress. She began her career as a child actress. For her performance in the CBBC series Malory Towers (2020–2025), she earned Children's BAFTA and Emmy Award nominations.

Early life
Bright was born in New York and grew up in North London.[1] She holds dual citizenship. Bright attended South Hampstead High School,[2] completing her A Levels in 2025.[3]
Career
Bright made her television debut in a 2015 episode of the TNT crime drama Legends. This was followed by her West End debut in The Cursed Child in 2017 at the Palace Theatre and her feature film debut in the 2018 mystery comedy Holmes & Watson.[4][5]
In 2020, Bright began starring as the lead character Darrell Rivers in the CBBC adaptation of Enid Blyton's Malory Towers.[6] For her performance, Bright was nominated for the 2022 British Academy Children's Award for Young Performer and Outstanding Lead Performer at the 2023 and 2024 Children's and Family Emmy Awards. Bright portrayed young Kate Middleton in an episode of the final season of The Crown on Netflix in 2023, appearing in a fictional flashback in which the young Middleton meets Princess Diana (portrayed by Elizabeth Debicki).[7]
In 2025, Bright was cast as co-lead in the Amazon Prime series Off Campus.[8]
