During the series, Enid is one of the only people to continuously support and look out for Wednesday. While she has no connection to the murders themselves, she actively helps Wednesday with her investigations into them. She constantly acts as a character who is supportive of everyone while still maintaining the ability to stand up for herself and the people she cares about.[2]
Casting
In 2021, Emma Myers was cast in Wednesday as Enid Sinclair.[1] She was considered for the role after having unsuccessfully auditioned for the lead role of Wednesday Addams earlier that year.[3][4]
Biography
Enid is from San Francisco; she grew up with older brothers. She closely follows ice hockey and supports the San Jose Sharks of the NHL.
It is shown that she has a rocky relationship with her parents, particularly her mother, which is demonstrated right from when they are first introduced. Enid counts up to three seconds before her mother makes a comment on her looks and calls it a personal best, implying that her mother often makes remarks on her appearance. Her father, on the other hand, seems to be a more gentle presence in her life, being someone Enid is more comfortable with than her mother.
Reception

Fans and commentators have noted a romantic chemistry between Enid and the show's lead character, Wednesday Addams, with the ship gaining the colloquial moniker of "Wenclair". However, this was never materialized in the show, contributing to allegations of queerbaiting, also spurred on by Netflix having promoted the show with an event entitled "WednesGay" in 2022.[5][6][7][8] In 2025, the show's creators, Alfred Gough and Miles Miller, clarified that a romantic relationship between the two was not intended.[9]
