Life and career

Winters was part of the sculpture event in the art competition at the 1948 Summer Olympics.[1] His work was mostly focused on portrait busts, including sports personalities such as the Northern Ireland football player Danny Blanchflower. He lived in Suffolk, and fashioned the figures of St Peter and St Paul over the porch at Lavenham Church.[2]

His brother, the composer Geoffrey Winters, dedicated his Violin Concerto to the memory of Eric Winters[3]
