Design and development

The Excel was produced in the early 2000s, in one size only, the Excel 146, with a wing area of 14.5 m2 (156 sq ft).[1]

The aircraft is made from aluminum tubing, with the wing covered in Dacron sailcloth. Its 10.2 m (33.5 ft) span wing has a nose angle of 133° and the pilot hook-in weight range is 70 to 110 kg (154.3 to 242.5 lb). The design was certified as DHV class 2-3 and sold for 3074 in 2003.[1]
