Ezell Jones

Jones played college football at Minnesota from 1966 to 1968.^[1][3] He played on both offense and defense as a sophomore, but played only on offense in 1967 and 1968.^[4] He sustained a neck injury in the 1968 season opener, but he came back from the injury.^[4] He was named UPI's Midwest Linemen of the Week in November 1968 ater his blocking helped Minnesota tally over 300 rushing yards against Purdue. He was also an honors student in mathematics and received first-team honors on the 1967 Big Ten all-academic team.^[5]

Jones was selected by the New York Jets in the fourth round (104th overall pick) of the 1969 NFL/AFL draft.^[1] He signed with the Jets in May 1969,^[6] but was traded to the Boston Patriots in August 1969 in exchange for a future draft pick.^[7] He appeared in 18 games for the Patriots during the 1969 and 1970 seasons.^{[1][8][9][10]}

Jones was released by the Patriots after the 1970 season and signed with the Toronto Argonauts of the Canadian Football League in March 1971.^[11] He was released by the Argonauts in July 1971.^[12]
