Overview

Rear view

The Formula S was first shown at the 2026 Beijing Auto Show alongside the Formula S GT and the larger Formula SL.[2] Technical specifications were revealed through China's MIIT regulatory filings on 11 June 2026.[3]

The Formula S features an exterior design reminiscent of the Denza Z, which was originally conceived as a Fangchengbao. This includes teardrop-shaped headlights and diamond-shaped taillights.

Powertrain

The Formula S is available three powertrain options: rear-wheel-drive single motor variants producing either 245 kW (329 hp) or 300 kW (400 hp), and an all-wheel-drive dual motor variant producing 490 kW (660 hp). The single motor variants have 720 km (450 mi) and 830–900 km (520–560 mi)[4] of CLTC range respectively. All models use BYD's second-generation "Blade" LFP battery.[3]

Fangchengbao Formula S GT

The Formula S GT was introduced and regulated at the same time as the Formula S. It is marketed as a "shooting brake" variant.

Two powertrain options are available: a single motor variant with 300 kW (400 hp) and 800–850 km (500–530 mi) of CLTC range, and a dual motor variant with 490 kW (660 hp) and 720 km (450 mi) of CLTC range.[4]
