Fawn Rogers

Fawn Rogers is an American multimedia artist based in Los Angeles who works in painting, sculpture, video, and installation. She is known for large-scale oil paintings of oysters and other organic forms.

Work

Rogers' work often depicts oysters and other marine forms. Her paintings have been described as linking eroticism and ecofeminism with environmental degradation, using marine imagery to address systems of consumption and exploitation.[1][2] Her imagery alludes to themes of extraction and human intervention in natural processes,[3] as well as raising broader questions of ecological accountability and the symbolic resonance of natural materials in contemporary art.[4]

Exhibitions

Rogers has exhibited her work in galleries and art fairs in the United States and internationally including Los Angeles, New York, Miami, and Paris.[5]

In 2022, she had a solo exhibition Your Perfect Plastic Heart at Wilding Cran Gallery in Los Angeles. The paintings were described as using organic imagery to examine consumption and environmental anxiety.[6]

In 2023, she exhibitied Come Ruin or Rapture at Galerie Marguo in Paris.[7] In the same year her work was shown at K11 Musea in Hong Kong, in the exhibition Burn, Gleam, Shine. The work was described as having a sensuous yet critical presentation of oyster imagery.[2]

In 2024, her solo exhibition Everything is Sacred Nothing is Precious; Everything is Precious Nothing is Sacred at MAKE ROOM in Los Angeles.[3]
