The lake has a surface area of 24 square kilometres (9.3 sq mi) and a maximum depth of 38 metres (125 ft).[6] The lake is situated in the traditional provinces (landskap in Swedish) Halland, Småland and Västergötland. Their boundaries meet approximately in the middle of the lake.[7]
The village Fegen is located on the south side of the lake, the village Sandvik on the northeast side.
