Club career
Bednarek signed for Dutch side FC Twente at the age of 16. He made his debut for the club on 6 December 2012, against Helsingborgs IF in the UEFA Europa League.[1] Bednarek, however, was thus unable to break into the first team, and in July 2015, he left the club as a free agent.
Following a successful trial period with FC Utrecht, Bednarek signed a one-year contract with the club, including an option for an extra season.
He returned to Poland on 5 June 2020, signing a two-year deal plus a one-year option with Ekstraklasa side Lech Poznań.[2] With Lech's then-captain Mickey van der Hart out injured, Bednarek was Lech's first-choice goalkeeper throughout the first half of the season, including their entire Europa League campaign.
In June 2025, Bednarek returned to the Netherlands and signed a two-year deal with Sparta Rotterdam.[3]

Personal life
He is the older brother of Porto defender Jan Bednarek.[10]
