Filsoniana lhasanensis is a species of saxicolous (rock-dwelling), crustose lichen in the family Teloschistaceae.[1] It is found in Tibet, where it grows on rocks at altitudes between 4,200 and 4,432 m (13,780 and 14,541 ft). This species is defined by its reduced, vivid orange appearance and unique, aggregated reproductive structures.
It was formally described as a new species in 2020 by Xue-Mei Wen, Hurnisa Shahidin, and Abdulla Abbas. The species epithet lhasanensis refers to Lhasa City, where the type specimen was collected. This was the first report of a Filsoniana species in China.[2]
