Fissurina chrysocarpa is a little-known species of script lichen in the family Graphidaceae.[1] Found primarily in the rainforests of Rondônia, Brazil, it is distinguished by its bright orange lirellae.
Fissurina chrysocarpa was first described scientifically as a new species in 2014 by lichenologists Marcela Cáceres, André Aptroot, and Robert Lücking. The type specimen was collected by the first two authors in November 2012, in the Estação Ecológica de Cuniã (Rondônia, Brazil). The species epithet chrysocarpa refers to the lichen's distinct orange lirellae.[2]
