Gabriel Rodrigo Ribeiro Tavares Bernardino (born 1964) is a Portuguese mathematician[1] who has been serving as the chairman of the European Insurance and Occupational Pensions Authority (EIOPA) from 2011 to 2021.[2][3]
Bernardino was born in Bombarral, a village north of Lisbon. His father was a farmer.[4] He holds degrees in mathematics and statistics from the Universidade Nova de Lisboa.[3]
