In 1975, he graduated from Beijing Foreign Studies University and entered the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China.[citation needed] In the same year, he went to El Colegio de México for further studies.[1] Since 1978, he has served in the Embassy in Argentina, the Department of Americas and Oceania of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Embassy in Nicaragua, the Department of Latin America and the Caribbean of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Embassy in Chile, and the Embassy in Bolivia, where he later served as counselor.[citation needed] In 2000, he served as counselor of the Latin American Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. In August 2002, he served as the Consul-General of the People's Republic of China in Barcelona.[2] In February 2007, he served as the Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to Peru.[3] From August 2009 to September 2011, he served as the Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to Colombia.[4][5]
