Gazania thermalis is a species of flowering plant in the family Asteraceae. It is native to southwest Africa but can be found everywhere. Its natural habitat is geothermal wetlands. It is threatened by habitat loss making it critically endangered.
Gazania thermalis is yellow flower and has a yellow center. It has yellow petals and small black seeds. It can grow from 6 in to 1.5 meters in height. The Gazania thermalis also supports local ecosystems by being pollinator friendly, attracting bees and butterflies. There are also around 19 hybrid species of gazania, all with unique colors and shapes. Its petals will only open during sunny days and close at dusk or when there is no sunlight.
The flower is also heat tolerant, drought tolerant, and pest resistant
