The General Secretariat of the Government (French: Secrétariat Général du Gouvernement) is a Moroccan ministry responsible for coordinating the legal and administrative work of the Moroccan government cabinet including the preparation, review and publication of legislation in the Official Bulletin.[1]
Created on 10 December 1955, ahead of Morocco's independence from France the following year, the General Secretariat plays a central role in ensuring the consistency and legality of government decisions.[2] The General Secretariat is headed by a Secretary-General with a ministerial rank, who has been Mohamed El Hajoui, since 2017.[3]
