Career

Okorokov began his wrestling career in Yakutia, Russia. In June 2016, he won the junior European title at 50 kg in Bucharest, pinning his Romanian opponent in the final in just 31 seconds.[2] In the same year, he also took second place at the Russian junior championships.[3]

After several years competing in Russia (including a bronze at the Baikal Open in 2019), Okorokov moved to Australia in July 2021 and obtained residency, making him eligible to represent Australia at international competitions.[4] He won the Australian freestyle wrestling championship in May 2022, defeating Mustafa Rezaifar in the final.[5]

In September 2022, Okorokov represented Australia at the 2022 World Wrestling Championships in Belgrade, Serbia, finishing 10th.[6] He won gold medals at the Oceania Wrestling Championships in 2023 (Canberra) and 2024 (Yona), competing in the 65 kg category.[7][8]
