Geronimo "Gerry" Solapco Angeles (March 6, 1927 – August 17, 2005), was a Filipino politician and lawyer who served as the Mayor of Valenzuela from 1968 to 1986. He holds the record as the longest-serving mayor in the history of the municipality, having governed the town for 18 consecutive years. He notably oversaw the historical transition of Valenzuela from being a municipality of the province of Bulacan into a highly urbanized entity within the newly formed Metropolitan Manila Commission.[1]

Angeles was born on March 6, 1927, in Barangay Isla in the town of Polo, Bulacan (the geographical predecessor to modern-day Valenzuela City). He was born to a prominent family; his father, Eugenio Angeles, served as an Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of the Philippines, and his mother was Eufrocina Solapco.[2]

He received his primary education at the Polo Elementary School before attending the Ateneo de Manila University and Rizal High School for his secondary education. Pursuing a career in the legal field, he later studied law at the Manila Law College.[2]
