Gibberula jayi is a species of sea snail, a marine gastropod mollusk, in the family Cystiscidae.[1][2]

Etymology

G. jayi is named in honor of John Clarkson Jay the discoverer of the genus.[2]

Description

The shell is around 2.6-2.7 mm long and 1.7 mm wide.[2] The species has swollen shells at the posterior with a uniformly subhayline shell.[2]

Distribution

G. jayi occurs in the middle reef zone of Réunion due to being at a depth of 10 to 20 meters.[2][1] The species is also possibly in Mauritius and Rodrigues[2]
