History

Goodrich High School was in existence by 1883, when it was first mentioned in a local newspaper.[6]

Prior to the opening of the current Goodrich High School in 1963,[7] the high school used a building built in 1913.[8] It was on Erie Street next to the Wheelock Auditorium, now part of Reid Elementary.[9] The sports teams were known as the Gladiators until 1930, when they were renamed the Martians after the Roman god of war.[10]
