Gorenji Vrsnik (pronounced [ɡɔˈɾeːnji ʋəɾˈsniːk], German: Oberwresnik[2]) is a village in the Municipality of Idrija[3] in the traditional Inner Carniola region of Slovenia.[2] It lies off the road from Idrija to Žiri.
The name Gorenji Vrsnik literally means 'upper Vrsnik', contrasting with the neighboring village of Spodnji Vrsnik (literally, 'lower Vrsnik'). Gorenji Vrsnik stands about 40 meters (130 ft) higher in elevation than Spodnji Vrsnik.[4]
