At the 2004 Commonwealth Youth Games, the gymnastics events were held at Bendigo Schweppes Centre in Bendigo, Australia from 2 to 4 December.[1] The boys competed in Artistic Gymnastics under the categories All Round, Floor, Pommel Horse, Rings, Vault, Parallel Bars and Horizontal Bar. The girls competed in Artistic Gymnastics under the categories All round, Vault, Beam, Uneven Bar and Floor. Rhythmic Gymnastics was open to girls only, and held events in All Around, Rope, Hoop, Ball and Ribbon.[2].
New Team events were included for the Men's and Women's Artistic and the Women's Rhythmic events.[3]
Changes to the Rhythmic Gymnastics saw Clubs replace Hoop in the all round and individual disciplines.[3]
