Harry Hudson Swofford (February 4, 1873 – December 29, 1970) was an American politician in the state of Washington. He served in the Washington House of Representatives and Washington State Senate.[1]
Swofford was born in Desoto, Illinois on February 4, 1873. He migrated with his family to a homestead in Washington state that became the community of Swofford.[2][3] Harry, rather than his parents Thomas and Jennie, was often given credit for naming the town in later reports. Swofford attended the University of Washington, enrolling in 1893.[4]
