Harold Ellsworth Ely (December 26, 1909 – July 12, 1983) was an American football tackle who played three seasons in the National Football League (NFL) with the Chicago Bears and Brooklyn Dodgers. He played college football at the University of Iowa.
Harold Ellsworth Ely was born on December 26, 1909, in Des Moines, Iowa.[1] He attended Theodore Roosevelt High School in Des Moines, Iowa.[1]
Ely was a member of the Iowa Hawkeyes of the University of Iowa from 1927 to 1930 and a three-year letterman from 1928 to 1930.[1] He was named second-team All-Big Ten by the United Press as a senior in 1930.[2]
