Harrow International School New York is an international school in Oakdale, New York, on Long Island, that is opened in 2025 with just 18 students. It is a subsidiary of the Harrow School in the United Kingdom, and the first such one to open in the United States.[1]
The New York State Board of Regents gave the school a provisional charter in February 2025.[1] It opened in September 2025. Initially it will have grades 6-10,[2] and the school administration initially anticipated that opening enrollment would be 80. Each subsequent year, a grade is to be added, until it covers grades 6-12. The planned ultimate enrollment size is around 400. The school's plan is to have day, five day boarding, and seven day boarding students.[1]
The first Principal was Nick Page, former Deputy Headmaster at Harrow UK. He left after 9 months in charge and was replaced by Deputy Principal, Matthew Sipple. Harrow School sent an employee to familiarize Sipple with Harrow methods.[3]
Josie Ensor of The Sunday Times stated that political issues under the second presidency of Donald Trump may affect the operations of the school and the ability to attract non-US boarding students.[2]
Academics
The school will use the International Baccalaureate curriculum and it will be coeducational.[2]
